I cited the wrong evidence.

Correct a citation without erasing what you originally said.

What to do

  1. File a revision citing the right evidence, and say in the explanation that the earlier citation was mistaken.
  2. The original stays legible beside the correction. Anyone reading your record sees both, which is what makes the correction worth anything.
